TN House Says Don’t Call Us Conservatives!

March is the month that Tennessee House members shifted remaking the state into high gear – illegal alien workers are welcome, racism is a public health threat and made the case for more RINOs to be elected!

Cameron Sexton and RINO Central

House members have twice elected Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) to lead as Speaker knowing that he is a card carrying member of RINO Central, aka, the Southland Advantage fundraising firm whose stable of clients include super-RINO Steve Dickerson (voted to support ballot harvesting), Eddie Mannis and La Raza Randy Boyd.

Even if the company Sexton keeps doesn’t concern Conservative voters, his choice of Southland given its traitorous, scandalous and unethical conflict-of-interest ridden history, should.

When Taylor and Walker Ferrell, Southland’s husband and wife team, launched their political shop in 2015, both were employed by and embedded in the Tennessee Republican Party – Walker was the Political Director of the state party, and Taylor was employed as the Interim Finance Director.

All three of Southland’s first stable of Republican clients were recruited to oust proven incumbent conservatives.

Flash in the pan Grant Starrett ran against Rep. Scott DeJarlais, Beth Cox ran against then state Rep. Courtney Rogers, and Will Lockhart ran against then state Rep. Judd Matheny.

All three of Southland’s candidates lost their primary races.

2016 was a busy year for Sexton – he sponsored the National Popular Vote bill and was rumored to have been testing the caucus waters for a bid for Speaker. While it took him four more years to ascend to Speaker, he did so bringing along his tainted perspective of how representative government is supposed to work.

Given his history and affiliations, it’s no doubt that the cowardly Republican caucus suspected that a good RINO like Sexton would be willing to abuse his authority and shield them from inviting illegal aliens to work in Tennessee. Dropping the gavel before any member could even turn on their microphone to offer a second to Griffey’s Rule 53 Motion followed by stripping Griffey of his committee assignments, is a too obvious move to protect caucus RINOs from Chamber and NFIB wrath.

It wasn’t that long ago that Speaker Pro Tem Pat Marsh, an illegal alien protectionist, supported awarding in-state college tuition to illegal aliens because, “I go into the local schools and see these immigrants in leadership roles in our schools. They’re the star athletes. They’re the star students. They deserve a chance to move forward in their lives …”

Tennessee’s doctors are racist

Earlier this month, in true BLM-style, the House Health Subcommittee passed a joint resolution affirming that all Tennessee doctors are racists. Only two Republicans voted against it in the full House committee and even though it’s going back for another round in the full committee, it’s a safe bet that whatever gets passed there again, will be passed by the cowering Republican caucus.

No doubt the even more liberal Senate Republicans will agree and “recognize racism as a public health threat.”

The resolution in question is centered around the pro-abortion American Medical Association’s (AMA) declarations regarding an alleged connection between structural racism and public health.

Like other medical venues which are “laundering their progressivism” under the guise of public health, the AMA is also pushing the climate change. During the Trump administration, the AMA issued a statement criticizing the protective separation of children and adults after crossing the border illegally. There’s no record of the AMA speaking against the same policy practiced during the Obama administration.

House Caucus – we need more fake conservatives

The same divide between Conservative and Establishment Republicans in D.C. is also happening in our state legislature. How did we end up with a governor who campaigned as a “conservative outsider” but whose policies and agenda for Tennessee ignore critical issues like real Constitutional carry and the impact of illegal immigration on Tennessee’s legal workers?

Was anyone else laughing out loud when the American Conservative Union (ACU) ranked the Tennessee General Assembly as the most conservative legislature in the country for a consecutive second year?

But that was in 2017, and A LOT has happened since then including a continued decline in the conservative profile and ACU ranking of Tennessee’s House and Senate.

In 2020, the Senate’s average conservative ranking fell by a full 10 points from the prior year, to 75% while the House fell by 11 points to 78%. The slide of phony conservative legislators into RINO-ism is often subtle and difficult to nail down explicitly; it is best looked at as a downward trend taken in a series of mostly small steps.

For example, when Rep. Jeremy Faison (R-Cosby) ran for the first time in his rural east Tennessee mountain district that includes Cocke, Jefferson, and Greene counties, he labeled himself “the conservative”.

A few terms down the road and “the conservative” Faison pushed for legalizing marijuana medical treatments whichhe said, “has no side effects” as compared to alcohol, relying on the standard canard the left and old burned out hippies have been pushing for decades that marijuana can provide medical benefits.

Was Faison’s idea that marijuana would be Cocke County’s biggest cash crop and the pot growers could just start bottling the oil in the field; “farm to table” would, after all, be in keeping with current trends. It will also legalize the weed industry already in place.

Faison also appears to have taken the RINO road on illegal immigration. In Faison’s now deleted 2016 op-ed he wrote that:  “Two of the three top Republican presidential candidates want 30 million illegal immigrants deported. Many of these illegal immigrants have family members that are citizens. No president will ever deport. Republicans should build a bridge to their community with concrete, achievable solutions.” This is probably why he filed to be a Marco Rubio delegate in 2016 due to Rubio’s position to amnesty illegal aliens.

And now for a flashback laugh of the day that no one could seriously fabricate – Faison’s bill making it legal for Tennesseans to raise and sell skunks Creating a ready-made market for pot pet specific products like those being sold in California?

If you’re thinking House member conservative sell-out, know that Faison is not alone.

Blackburn Gushes Over Basketball Player Who Favors “Taking a Knee” and Protesting with BLM in Interview About Freedom and Free Speech

This week’s guest on “Unmuted with Marsha” is Turkish-born NBA basketball player Enes Kanter who became a U.S. citizen last year and is reported to be dating a Rockefeller.

Marsha begins by gushing over Enes during her introduction – “he has been such a strong advocate for “human rights, for democracy, for justice….”

High praise from the alleged conservative Senator from Tennessee, for a foreign-born NBA basketball player who favors “taking a knee” during our national anthem and who spoke at a Black Lives Matter protest in Boston.

Enes Kanter protest with BLM in Boston

Marsha expresses extreme concern about the “socialistic control” being exerted by Turkey’s president Erdogan and is overly impressed by Kanter using his pseudo-celebrity status to speak out against it. She’s so impressed with this basketball player that she wants to know what he thinks about U.S. sanctions put on Turkey for purchasing a Russian air defense system. Kanter appears to be against the sanctions because he believes direct action against Erdogan is needed.

Of course, any and all conversations are structured around Marsha being able to talk about herself, unless of course it’s about explaining her vote to certify the “tainted election results” on January 6th.

Appearing to read from her script, Marsha talks about a resolution she co-sponsored “condemning Turkey’s crack-down on free speech and dissent” and Erdogen’s pattern of “using any pretext to crush minority voices and inflict fear.”

Anyone else think Marsha could have used this time to talk about the crushing of conservative voices that began during the Obama administration? What about the Biden administration, abetted by the corrupt media and the likes of Amazon, Facebook, Google and Twitter dismantling the remaining remnants of right-wing opposition voices?

Hyper-focused on the “socialistic control” she attributes to Turkey, Marsha congratulates Kanter for using his NBA platform to address free speech abuses in Turkey, after he recounts the retaliation taken on his family still living there:

“your courage is really quite remarkable and you know, when you talk about authoritarian regimes and socialistic control and you hear first-hand from someone who is living through this you see the dangers that come with people being forced to give their freedoms, whether its their freedom of speech or religion, their right to protest, their right to make decisions for themselves, the right to achieve their hopes and dreams and goals – your sister going to medical school, your brother wanting to be a basketball player in the NBA, you see how important it is that we continue to fight every day for freedom and justice and liberty and equality under the law and to have that rule of law that is going to be a constant for us, an absolute constant for us knowing that it is going to be fairly applied to each and everyone….”

A better choice for an “Unmuted” guest at this moment in time and one Marsha’s base relates to, is the Parler CEO John Matze. Parler quickly became the conservative’s alternative to Twitter, especially after President Trump was shut down by Twitter. Aside from being gang-raped by the left’s big-tech, Matze was forced into hiding with his family due to death threats and security breaches. As far as we can tell, Marsha’s basketball player is living the good lefty life in the U.S. while making his family in Turkey shoulder the consequences of his advocacy.

On January 6th, Marsha quickly condemned the rioters. Since she keeps telling us that she’s all for freedom and free speech, why didn’t she stand up for the peacefully assembled rally goers, some from Tennessee among them, who were asserting their First Amendment rights?

Marsha threw the peaceful rally-goers under the bus along with every legal and legitimate voter in Tennessee and across the U.S., contradicting her own explicit “Fact Sheet on Electoral Vote Count.” The only explanation she has offered to date is the obtuse – “changed circumstances.” What is that supposed to mean?

Kanter closes his interview with Marsha by encouraging the Turkish people to step up because “Turkey could be the bridge of Islam and the West.”

Marsha needs to be muted and primaried

TN Highlander Center Director All in With BLM Anti-Semitism – part 7

The United States Commission on Civil Rights has stated, that “anti-Semitic bigotry is no less morally deplorable when camouflaged as anti-Israelism or anti-Zionism.”

Tennessee Highlander Center director Ash-Lee Henderson and Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founder, Patrisse Cullors are both vocal promoters of the Israel-hating campaign known as BDS (boycott, divestment & sanctions).

The anti-Israel BDS campaign attacks Zionism, the movement that helped to establish the State of Israel.  Martin Luther King Jr., often cited by progressives as a symbol for social justice, understood that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. As he said, “When people criticize Zionist, they mean Jews. You are talking anti-Semitism.”

BDSers want to eliminate the democratic state of the Jewish people.   For this reason, rallying BDS’ers use chants like “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free” which means there would be no Israel or Jews between the Jordan River and Mediterranean. The Jew-hating BDS campaign against Israel is, without question, the new anti-Semitism.

Cullors’ anti-Jew wokeness was ignited after joining a 2014 junket to the West Bank led by Ahmad Abuznaid, a Palestinian-American who has convinced black Americans who hate both the police and the U.S., that their grievances align with Palestinians who hate Israel and its Jews.

Ash-Lee started her anti-Jew campaign in 2014, in Chattanooga when she was an organizer with Concerned Citizens for Justice, a self-identified black liberation organization whose goal was to end white supremacy in Chattanooga.

In December 2016, shortly before being named co-director of the Highlander Center Ash-Lee Henderson took a solidarity trip to what she described as “occupied” Palestine. “Going through checkpoints, seeing rubber bullets, reminds us what our comrades and some of us experienced in Ferguson, [and] IDF soldiers totally remind me of the cops that brutalized [me].”

According to Ash-Lee one of the trip’s highlights was spending time with the Afro-Palestinian, admitted terrorist Ali Jiddah, a former member of the radical Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The man she lauded as the “elder of the African village in Jerusalem’s Old City” was imprisoned in Israel for 17 years after planting four hand grenades which injured multiple people. He was released from prison as part of a prisoner swap and in a later interview, admitted to his crime.

Typical of radical leftists’ fake wokeness, Cullors and Ash-Lee ignore the fact that Palestinians still use the Arabic slur “abeed” (slave) to refer to Afro-Palestinians like Jiddah.

The same year Ash-Lee became anti-Jew woke, she received a formal promotion to the policy table leadership team of the Movement 4 Black Lives (M4BL), the revolutionary umbrella group for black activist organizations including BLM. M4BL advances its own form of racism and its hate of America and white people through policy platforms including one titled “Invest-Divest,” the first version of which labelled Israel an apartheid state.

After unexpected push-back, M4BL tried to conceal its lies about Israel by moving all anti-Israel language to a white paper titled “Cut Military Expenditures” now linked to the M4BL policy platform on invest-divest which claims that Israel is an apartheid state, is “complicit in the genocide taking place against the Palestinian people”, that homes of Palestinians and land “are routinely bulldozed to make way for illegal Israeli settlements”,  and that “Israeli soldiers also regularly arrest and detain Palestinians as young as 4 years old without due process. Everyday, Palestinians are forced to walk through military checkpoints along the US funded apartheid wall.”

Of course there is no mention that Israel’s security wall has decreased deaths from suicide bombers.

Ash-Lee has joined with other anti-Jew groups like Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA) which opposes Christian Zionism and pushes the BDS campaign in U.S. churches. She has also joined forces with Ahmad Abuznaid to keep pushing their anti-Israel vitriol.

Ash-Lee has also adopted BDSer’s favorite death-to-Israel slogan – “from the river to the sea…” and wearing the black and white keffiyah popularized by the “father of modern terrorism”, Yasser Arafat.

Founding board member of Tennessee’s American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) Drost Kokoye, was among the first Islamists to openly support the BDS campaign. It wasn’t long before AMAC featured Linda Sarsour, among the most vocal anti-Semites in the U.S., at an AMAC event. This was followed by then AMAC chair Zulfat Suara, publicly embracing Jew-haters Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.

Sarsour says she has been “deeply involved” in the BLM movement and was heavily praised by BLM co-founder Alicia Garza in a recent virtual interview. Recall, that Ash-Lee and Garza have a particularly close relationship.

Ash-Lee and Linda Sarsour serve together on the advisory board of the Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equity an organization pushing to move more foundation funding to groups led by “people of color.”

In 2019, BLM’s Cullors was named the Executive Director and Board President of the BLM Global Network Foundation. Cullors now sits on the multi-million dollar BLM war chest and is the media go-to person to speak for BLM. Cullors has doubled down on BLM’s embrace of the BDS campaign – “[w]e realized we [BLM activists] needed to take our solidarity [with the BDS campaign] a step further. We had to be more public.”

Three Jew-haters with access to bottomless BIG money – what could go wrong?

Highlander Expands Reach of Radical Agenda Using Fiscal Sponsorship – Part 6

Following the example set by Black Lives Matter (BLM) funders, the Highlander Center is also using the less-than-transparent fiscal sponsorship model to expand the reach of its Marxist agenda more rapidly.

Fiscal sponsorship is a fast way for a new “non-profit” entity to solicit and accept tax-deductible donations using the 501(c)(3) umbrella of its fiscal sponsor who is responsible for reporting to the IRS. This arrangement has been criticized as potentially enabling tax-deductible donations to flow quickly to an entity ultimately deemed not qualified to receive this money.

For example, in 2016, the Thousand Currents Foundation agreed to act as the fiscal sponsor for the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLM GNF), the money chest for the BLM movement. Since the BLM GNF was not a 501(c)(3), the fiscal sponsorship shielded it from “having to file regular Form 990 reports with the IRS, [or] disclos[ing] comprehensive financial data in the same way a tax-exempt nonprofit must.”

Instead, the BLM GNF operated as a “project” of the Thousand Currents Foundation. Under this arrangement, millions of dollars flowed into the BLM GNF.

BLM co-founders Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi served as advisors to the BLM GNF which has been noted for its lack of transparency. Between 2017 and 2019, the BLM GNF spent about $4.6 million dollars on travel, consultants and personnel versus a measly $328,000 granted to outside organizations including some BLM chapters.

As of 2018, Garza and Tometi have moved on to other projects.

Garza founded the Black Futures Lab (BFL) whose fiscal sponsor is the Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) which the Heritage Foundation says is a promoter of the Community Chinese Party.

The Black Futures Lab supports the BLM GNF and the Movement 4 Black Lives. Recall, that Highlander co-director Ash Lee Henderson is on the policy team of M4BL and that Garza, considers Ash-Lee Henderson “fam.”

There is plenty of cross-pollination in funding sources for these “social justice” organizations with money funneled through a spider web of foundations. Highlander’s donors listed by Influence Watch include several Soros-funded front groups including Tides and the Proteus Fund. Other organizations in Tennessee including TIRRC and the American Muslim Advisory Council have received money from the Proteus Fund.

Highlander’s last available 990 from 2018, shows an annual revenue of over $4 million dollars and the other Highlander Fund showed an end of year balance of almost $3 million. Flush with money, Highlander’s co-directors are ready to hire an executive assistant. They are also advertising for a full-time digital strategist and a person to expand Highlander’s Economics & Governance program.

The Center’s 2016 annual report showed continued financial support from TN-ACLU director Hedy Weinberg and her Vanderbilt sociology professor husband Dan Cornfield, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the TN Arts Commission.

Highlander Center gets into fiscal sponsorship game

To date, Highlander is acting as the fiscal sponsor for seven organizations which include, BOLD (Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity), National Bail Out, People’s Advocacy Institute, Power U Center for Social Change, SiOP (Standing in Our Power), Southern Connected Communities Project, and The STAY Project.

All of these organizations are doing their part for “transformative justice” and community organizing. Highlander describes its fiscal sponsorships as “Incubating & Innovating Radical Work – Highlander incubates and innovates radical work by offering fiscal sponsorships and high capacity support to projects and networks.” (see December entry).

Power U’s “principles of unity” mimic much of Ash-Lee’s M4BL’s policy platforms – “the systems of White Supremacy, Capitalism, and Heteropatriarchy are the roots of oppression in our society.”

Among Highlander’s fiscally sponsored organizations, Power U and The Stay Project target young people, complimenting Highlander’s own youth programs – Children’s Justice Camp (ages 6 -12, to “work toward a society that celebrates diversity and equity through the brilliant minds of our youth”), Seeds of Fire (ages 13 -17, to train youth into social justice warriors “to build collective power and influence critical shifts in policy decisions and practice”), and training programs for college students.

In 1935 Hitler reminded us that “he alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.”

The concept was simple – children of the Hitler Youth movement would be immersed in the ideology of Naziism using education and Nazi propaganda to ensure that Naziism would control Germany’s future.

It appears that the Highlander Center agrees with Hitler about molding young minds. It is using fiscal sponsorships to expand its reach and help raise a new generation of Marxists.

There are legitimate reasons to be concerned about the Highlander Center’s use of its

financial growth combined with its national reach and connectedness to its Marxist leadership.

For example, in 2018, the TN Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) had Highlander use its “local and national relationships” to bring an intense and negative focus to ICE arrests of illegal aliens working at a meatpacking plant in Bean Station, Tennessee.

Ash-Lee Henderson is the driving force for the Highlander Center, committed to using her national connections and growing resources to create the “new America.” She explains it this way – if the “Breathe Act” which she worked on with Congress squad members Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib, which “uses federal dollars to reward cities and counties that defund their police departments” doesn’t get signed into law then, she “promise[s] that you will continue to see the kind of fervor and rigor of peaceful and passionate and righteously rageful protests in the streets until Black people get what they want.

BLM leader Patrisse Cullors, a self-described Marxist, puts it more simply – if their demands aren’t met, then “burn everything down.”

And they have proven that they mean it.

Nashville’s Gideon’s Army Not What Local News Reporter Says.. Part 1

The public face of Gideon’s Army is one of blacks helping blacks within their community. From mental health issues, to mentoring Nashvilles black youth, to “violence interrupters” walking the city streets trying to enforce peace. Sounds great, and on one level this is a much needed community resource.

However, one only has to look and listen to what members of Gideon’s Army says and does privately and you will see that public persona is a front for radical activism. Doing good for the community is great, using that community to promote an agenda is not.
Recently, in an ad campaign that portrayed Gideon’s Army to be an extreme arm of black power, a local Nashville News reporter, Phil Williams decided to take to the streets with Gideons to see the work they do. What the local reporter did not do was delve into who the members are, and who they connect and partner with.

The first noticeable problem is how they present themselves to the community. Dressing as black militants, and wearing shirts with black raised fits denotes radical activism. Claiming to be role models for the youth of their community while dressed like street soldiers sends a really bad message to young kids. To some it may even be intimidating. If your goal was to truly show black kids how to develop into constructive adults, why not show them how to dress for success?

Another disgusting show of disrespect for their own, is the constant referral to others in the community as “niggas”. Haven’t blacks fought for years to have that word banished as they find it highly offensive? Yet members of the Gideons army use it repeatedly. Don’t tell me it is acceptable within the black community to use that word when people have been fired and arrested for calling a black the “N” word. You can’t have it both ways. In this video clip, Hambino Godbody is discussing the stupidity of N’s killing N’s, and how there is a time and a place for it but not against their own. Watch fast, it is sure to disappear!

http://https://www.facebook.com/hambino.godbody/videos/3473111956116590

Working with children in black communities is of utmost importance to members of Gideon’s army, yet their personal posts on social media ( all public) show a lack of respect for woman, and down right disgusting sexual references.

Then there is a the racism issue. Whites are often excluded or put down as being supremacists if you don’t agree with BLM. Martin Luther King worked for equality and the desegregation of blacks, but now through groups like Gideon’s Army and other radical organizations, they demand their own of everything. Black tv, black radio, black schools, black sports, black unions, and much more.  Gideon’s Army engages with other groups like the Black Nashville Assembly, that call for the “transformation” of Nashville. Unlike their public persona, which claims to be all about children, and peace, they stand with others that want to defund the police and develop “political clarity”.

This is not the way to go about  changing the black community. Has Gideon’s Army done good for their neighborhood? In part, yes. What they need to learn is you have to practice what you preach.

Bill Lee’s Administration Joins BLM Culture War

The TN Council on Children and Youth (TCCY), its nine regional council members and anyone else that wants to participate, will access a free webinar on checking their white privilege.

The “free” webinar “Cultural Collisions” addressing “cultural competency” is being paid for by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS). This is the second webinar in a series on implicit bias and racial equity.

The third and final webinar is titled “Lets Talk Race.” The training objectives include “a safe and carefully led conversation about the history of slavery in the United States and its inevitable impact in present day”…and “the impact of racial constructs in legislation, policies, practices, and cultural identity.”

TDMHSAS Commissioner Marie Williams was originally appointed by Haslam and was reappointed by Bill Lee in January 2019.

The goal of “cultural competency” is to help white people understand and acknowledge their implicit biases across a wide range of issues which can include race, class, gender sexual orientation, sexual identity, religion, weight, discrimination and the mother of them all according to BLM, white privilege.

Last year, Williamson County teachers were shown a “Cultural Competency” video series as part of professional development, one of which addressed white privilege and how it causes “unintentional bias.”

The free webinar for Tennessee employees and TCCY council members addressing “cultural competency” includes free “CEUs” (continuing education units required to retain certain practice licenses), a sure draw for anyone needing the credits. Guest speaker Pastor Edward Palmer is a certified diversity trainer who has previously provided his course to Tennessee departments. He’s back for a repeat visit. Palmer’s focus area is juvenile justice systems.

Palmer and his wife co-pastor at The Sign of the Dove Church International located in Radcliff, Kentucky. From his bio:

“He is a Certified Diversity Trainer and works to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.  He most recently became a certified Racial and Ethnic Disparities Capstone Project Fellow through the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform at Georgetown University.”

Palmer has a single entry on his blog, entitled, What is Race?

Race is a social construct used by some as an indicator of inferiority or superiority. Race as a social construct influences how individuals are perceived and treated by others and systems within society. Since as early as and even before the 1500s, the pseudoscientific idea that race defines who is less intelligent, less capable and of less value to humanity has been used to justify the violent, demeaning and harsh treatment of people on the bases of skin color….

Because the consequences are real, race will continue to matter until we debunk and deconstruct the idea of race and the systems that have used this ideology to discriminate and depress people of the perceived minority group.

It is a laudable mission for resources to be directed to struggling and vulnerable children, young adults and their families. Successful interventions serve the larger community but the timing of this diversity training is highly suspect and too many actions are being justified under the COVID intervention umbrella.

The August TN Commission on Children and Youth (TCCY) newsletter includes the Commission’s statement on racial justice with the view that Tennessee is a racist state:

Another TCCY August newsletter focused on federal updates includes links to ultra-left Center for American Progress COVID information, the left-leaning Urban Institute which more often than not, pushes a progressive policy agenda, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation which was a key funder of groups pushing Obamacare and has made grants to the Clinton Foundation.

To round it out, the TCCY federal update newsletter included a link to this anti-Trump piece put out by the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, another group “widely regarded as being aligned with progressive and liberal positions.”

The TCCY is a state agency funded with public money and should not be using its access to state-wide employees to share its own overt political bias.

Richard Kennedy is the TCCY Executive Director and can be reached at (615) 741-2633 or tccy.info@tn.gov

Commissioner Marie Williams whose agency is paying for the cultural competency webinar series can be reached at 615) 532-6500, Marie.Williams@tn.gov

TN Highlander Center Trains Radical Groups to Overthrow Our Government – Part 2

Within days of Trump’s election, Ash-Lee Henderson “of the Movement for Black Lives (MBL) and Freedom Road aka “Liberation Road”, was featured on a webinar hosted by Liberation Road to strategize against his election victory.

What is Liberation Road?

Liberation Road was one of the two groups that formed the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO),  a US Marxist-Leninist organization with a Maoist flavor.  In 2019, this group split in two.

After the split, the group most active in electoral politics and local organizing called itself Liberation Road. The full formal name is Freedom Road Socialist Organization/Organacion Socialista del Camino paper la Libertad. Despite the name change, Liberation Road is still sometimes referred to as “Freedom Road.”

The goal of Liberation Road and its Marxist allies is to destroy the Republican Party and then work with groups like the Communist Party USA, Democrat Socialists of America and a “mass of independent political organizations (IPOs) as a part of a broader front to defeat the New Confederacy.” They want to create a powerful and politically dominant U.S. socialist party. The Highlander Center, Project South, the Southern Movement Assembly, just to name a few, have been working for years to help build and support these IPOs.

The Nashville Justice League, whose members were trained at Highlander, was recognized as an ally in Liberation Road’s July 2019 newsletter. The Nashville Justice League is an IPO (independent political organization) which has endorsed and gotten candidates elected to the Nashville Metro Council. Part 3 of this series will discuss Tennessee organizations actualizing the Liberation Road agenda.

Liberation Road states clearly that they are committed to combatting patriarchy, white supremacy and its privilege, capitalism and recreating the left into a “powerful disciplined revolutionary organization, big enough, deeply rooted enough among the people, and well-coordinated enough to challenge the white supremacist US ruling class for power.” They call this “left refoundation”.

Liberation Road has been energized by socialist election wins in Virginia, Durham, NC, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville, and its members are organizing to defeat President Trump and continue going after more local and State seats.

The Highlander Research and Education Center

Right after Ash-Lee’s webinar, Black Lives Matter leaders rushed to gather in secret at the Highlander Center in New Market, Tennessee. They met to work out their future agenda in what the Marxist Liberation Road described as the “Trump disaster.”

Viewed in the context of Ash-Lee’s national and Tennessee connections, and her commitment to Marxist ideology and tactics, the convening of BLM leaders at the Tennessee site made sense.

One month after the Highlander Center secret meeting, Ash-Lee Henderson, was promoted to the Movement 4 Black Lives (M4BL) policy roundtable and became the Co-Director of the Highlander Center.

Groups involved in the 2016 M4BL policy roundtable which are connected to the Highlander Center and/or the state of Tennessee, included Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI), Black Youth Project 100, Dream Defenders, Project South and Southerners on New Ground (SONG).

The Highlander Center was founded in 1932 to bring socialism to the South. In recent years Highlander’s leadership made the Center the go-to-place for planning how to take down the “New Confederacy.”  The New Confederacy is what Liberation Road calls the GOP, which they describe as “the most reactionary factions of capital allied with racist/nativist, right-wing populists.”  They believe that “the Republican Party is the political expression of this alliance. We use the term ‘New Confederacy’ to emphasize the fact that this right-wing political force is rooted in an explicitly racist program and strategy.”

And the South is their declared prime target.

The Culture of the Highlander Center, Liberation Road, Black Lives Matter

Charlene Carruthers, who founded the Black Youth Project 100, was at the 2016 Highlander secret meeting. She describes her national organization of young Black activists who “work through a Black, queer feminist lens.” Carruthers and Ash-Lee had already crossed paths at the 2015 national M4BL convening in Cleveland out of which grew the M4BL policy roundtable in which Carruthers’ organization was involved.

The Cleveland convening was celebrated for focusing on the new rising young radical black leaders and discarding those now considered establishment like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. The “new force,” taking control are “black and brown youth” who are anti-capitalist, anti-police, and heavily represented in the LGBTQI community.

Indeed, many of the groups and their leaders working at the Highlander Center, the M4BL umbrella organization and Liberation Road, identify with the LGBTQI spectrum.

Part of the M4BL ”End the War on Black People” policy platform includes “End the War on Black Trans, Queer, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex People.”

Liberation Road says that their war on patriarchy means “supporting the leadership of women and queer people in our organization and the movements we work in.”

If you really want to destroy a country like America and a civilization founded on Judeo-Christian principles, you go after its foundations, the family, belief in God and the biological differences between men and women, boys and girls.

Also present at the 2015 Cleveland convening were the three co-founders of BLM – Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza and Patrisse Cullors. Both Garza and Cullors identify themselves as “queer” and as such, have made it a point to affirm black and brown “queer” and transgender people by putting them front and center of their anti-America culture war.

Tometi, who describes herself as a “transnational feminist,” heads up another organization called BAJI – Black Alliance for Just Immigration.  This group was featured during the 2016 National Immigrant Integration Conference hosted by the TN Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), in Nashville.

Garza is the chief strategic advisor of the BLM Global Network Foundation which gets to spend all of the millions of donated dollars. The foundation has been noted for its lack of transparency; between 2017 and 2019, it has spent about $4.6 million dollars on travel, consultants and personnel versus a measly $328,000 granted to outside organizations including some BLM chapters. Cullors is also a top advisor with the Foundation.

The point is that they have a lot of money so now people can be paid to organize communities, agitate and riot.

There is good reason to believe that Tometi and Cullors were at the 2016 secret Highlander meeting. BLM was founded by Marxist revolutionaries; Cullors openly admits that she and Garza are radical, anti-white trained Marxists. She would have had every reason to want to conspire with comrade Ash-Lee who has also proven her commitment to Marxist ideology and tactics.

And it was Ash-Lee’s organization Liberation Road that advanced the launch of BLM.

At the time of the Cleveland convening in 2015, Ash-Lee was a regional organizer for the Atlanta-based Project South Institute for the Elimination of Poverty and Genocide, and a Highlander Center Board member. Project South, an anchor organization of the Southern Movement Assembly, is all about radicalizing students and teaching them how to organize. Ash-Lee remains on the governance council of the Southern Movement Assembly.

In an interview about the Southern Movement Assembly, Ash-Lee channels the left refoundation objective of Liberation Road. She tells her interviewer that action sought by the Highlander Center has to be “transformative” as opposed to actions they “concede to in reform.”

Ash-Lee also says that, “I take very seriously the notion that organizing the South saves the country.” She and her ilk are committed to breaking the Southern states – however long that takes. And as Liberation road says, “by any means necessary.”

Trevor Loudon who has spent more than 30 years researching the radical left, Marxist, and terrorist movements and their covert influence on mainstream politics, has issued a warning that we would be wise to heed – “Liberation Road works well-under the radar but is highly effective, disciplined and relentless. If the good people of the U.S. South do not want to suffer ‘socialist liberation’ in the next few election cycles they’d better wake up fast.”

Loudon recommends as a starting point to have state-level hearings on the Liberation Road influence on local and state elections. It will be up to concerned citizens to inform their state and local elected officials and urge them to follow Loudon’s advice.

More parts to the Highlander Center series are forthcoming and will have information about how the Liberation Road agenda is playing out in Tennessee radical organizations and elections.

Homegrown Marxist Heads TN Highlander Center – Part 1

Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson co-directs the Highlander Research & Education Center located about 25 miles outside of Knoxville in New Market, Tennessee. She is a nationally-connected Marxist, a member of the M4BL policy table leadership team, and works with a myriad of other socialist/Marxist/communist oriented organizations across the country among her other affiliations.

M4BL is the Movement 4 Black Lives, a revolutionary umbrella group established in 2014; it is fiscally sponsored project of the Alliance for Global Justice. M4BL policy platforms demand “end the war on black people, payment of reparations, invest (in communities)-divest (from police), economic justice, community control, and of course, political power.

M4BL will hold a Black National Convention at the end of August focused on harnessing the “black vote” to oust Trump and show Biden and the Democrat party the make-or-break heft of their voting power. These radical electoral organizers call their strategy the “Left Inside/Outside Project“.

Ash-Lee tells her comrades (her term of endearment), “organize the South to save the country.”

By organize, she means using umbrella organizations like her M4BL (Movement 4 Black Lives) to raise funds and train groups like Black Lives Matter, aka, “burners, looters & Marxists.”

Training and convening happens at the Highland Center.

It’s critical for all Tennesseans who oppose the evils of socialism, communism and Marxism (whose ends are the same in the U.S.), to know about the Highlander Center, it’s leaders, spin-off groups, the affiliates, the funders, and of course, their agenda to take down what they call the “New Confederacy.”

You can’t oppose something you don’t know about.
You can’t understand the planned destruction to civilized society if you don’t learn about it.
You can’t understand the planned destruction for our constitutional republic if you don’t learn about it.
You can’t publicly condemn and push-back against something you don’t know about.
You can’t educate anyone else about something you don’t know about.
You can’t demand push-back from your community and elected leaders if you can’t explain it to them.

It’s a mistake to cavalierly dismiss these passionate, destructive groups. They are well-funded and have been able to make the industry of organizing and destroying, a full-time paid job.

Who is Ash-Lee?

Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson

Ash-Lee says that her mother was “an original member of the Black Panther party.”

The Black Panthers were a 60’s revolutionary socialist political group. Their platform, based in Marxist ideology, is no different than the one the Marxist BLM and affiliated groups is working from – anti-police, anti-capitalism and anti the U.S. Constitutional republic. These groups view violence as justified if it’s used to get their demands for social justice met.

The Panthers, BLM and M4BL, for example, were and are grounded in Black Liberation Theology. As an added feature, these groups hate Jews. More on this in another post.

Ash-Lee has invested herself in the radical nest created by the Panthers, BLM and many others, among them the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO). In 2019, FRSO split into two groups; one group renamed itself Liberation Road and is heavily focused on electoral politics and the community organizing that goes along with it. This is just one group with which Ash-Lee works.

Liberation Road is “strong” in Tennessee, and “works closely with the Communist Party USA, Democratic Socialists of America, Solidarity, League of Revolutionaries for a New America, Socialist Party USA, and sometimes the Workers World Party.”

Ash-Lee’s early years before she became co-director of the Highlander Center

Being the daughter of an original Black Panther gave Ash-Lee a good foundation to begin amassing her own revolutionary bona fides.

During high school she began to dabble in resistance organizing. But it was her time at East Tennessee State University when her revolutionary spirit really matured. Ash-Lee served as president of the Black Affairs Association, became active with the M4BL and was arrested for protesting. Her next arrest came in 2011, during a protest inside a Tennessee state legislative committee hearing.

Ash-Lee recognizes the opportunities to train and radicalize children through the Highlander’s Justice Camps, high school and college programs.

Highlander Justice Camp

The following year, Ash-Lee was an organizer with United Campus Workers and a Board member of Chattanooga Organized for Action (COA).

In 2013, before the FRSO name change, Ash-Lee stepped up her game and joined a FRSO fantasy junta to Mississippi to help the mayoral campaign for a black liberation activist. She traveled and campaigned alongside Cazembe Jackson, a trans male who, in 2016, became the national organizer for FRSO.

Ash-Lee and Cazembe continue to work together through M4BL (Movement 4 Black Lives).

She’s gotten involved in climate change radicalism, was an organizer for Chattanooga’s Concerned Citizens for Justice and was arrested during their protest against police brutality. In 2014, the same organization held a demonstration in Chattanooga to affirm their solidarity with Palestinians.

2016 Was a Big Year for Ash-Lee

In the same year that Ash-Lee was named co-director of the Highlander Center, she was featured on a webinar hosted by Liberation Road to strategize against Trump’s election victory. She also received a formal promotion to the policy table leadership team of the M4BL.

Ash-Lee explains the M4BL this way:

“I think the work of the Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) will save us. The Movement for Black Lives is modeling some really exciting opportunities to push transformative demands in a time of crisis. What’s real is right-wing populism is growing, and we need to be growing a left populism even faster, on a greater scale, to turn the ship around. So it’s got to be multi-tactic, that’s clear. We are creating as many entry points to movement as possible. As a multi-racial, multi-sector movement, we are creating more and more and more entry points for folks to come get down with us. That’s also the Black radical tradition. It’s been multi-tactic.”

Months before she was selected to co-direct the Highlander Center, Ash-Lee made her first trip to the Palestinian Authority with BLM activists to stand in solidarity with Palestinians who they say are systemically oppressed by Israel.

Ash-Lee was chosen to co-direct the Highlander Center because of her connections nationally and her commitment to organize the South – revolutionary style that is. She is confident that her movement will prevail over capitalism and white supremacy and says “if we win here, we can win anywhere.”

She is referring to the South, starting with Tennessee.

As will be revealed over the next several Parts, Ash-Lee appears to have big plans for the Highlander Center’s role in helping to transform and remake our state and federal government to fit a Marxist version of America.

Highlander Center is a convening Marxist destination in Tennessee where plans are hatched, developed and organized to first defeat President Trump’s re-election and then, continue to empower radical progressives who ascribe to socialist/communist/Marxist doctrines the likes of Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayana Presley to be the main drivers of the Democrat party.

Why Are TN’s Elected Using Our Money to Pay For Our Demise?

It’s no surprise that Tennessee’s elected elitists sold out Tennessee conservatives to New York lefties.

Former governor and never-Trumper Bill Haslam handed over $20+ million of Tennessee taxpayer dollars to get Alliance Bernstein (AB), a NYC investment management and research firm, to move its new corporate headquarters to Tennessee.

The move of course was to Mayor David Briley’s leftist Nashville since no self-respecting NYC transplant could possibly live someplace that didn’t have a Starbucks on every corner, organic food markets, or the trendiest restaurants.

While Haslam couldn’t conceal the $20 million fast track grant, the actual total of tax incentives for the AB deal were not disclosed, but months later, the Nashville Metro Council added their own $3.68 million dollar incentive package to lock in the AB deal. Regardless of the dollar and social cost (to be discussed below), both Lamar and Corker couldn’t heap enough praise on Haslam for bringing in more Yankees who want the benefits of living in a no-state income tax state.

“”Moving our corporate headquarters here allows us to offer advantages to our employees that we simply couldn’t in the New York metro area,’” president and CEO Seth Bernstein, said during a press conference. He noted lower living expenses, taxes and housing costs, shorter commute times and a more modern work facility.” https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/02/alliancebernstein-is-moving-to-nashville-from-manhattan-to-save-money.html

Along with AB’s promise to create 1,000 jobs, they also promised to spread philanthropic dollars in the city they planned to call home.

How AB’s philanthropy is being spread around Nashville is hard to document. But what is known, is that AB Vice-President, Daniel Weisman is serving as a board member of the Nashville-based Equity Alliance.

Founded in 2016, The Equity Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, employs state-wide and community organizers, communications and operational managers along with two co-executive directors. This group organizes around issues of alleged police brutality, equity for people of color, and like every other far left group, maintains a 501(c)(4) arm which is working to vote Trump out of office and elect progressive socialists.

The Equity Alliance’s 501(c)(4), Equity Alliance Action Fund, is a member of the Nashville Justice League coalition (NJL) along with TIRRC Votes, the affiliate of (the Soros-funneled money) TN Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition which advocates for illegal aliens and legal immigrants like refugees, and the Central Labor Council of Nashville & Middle TN (AFL-CIO).

The NJL formed a PAC shortly before the August 2019 election for the Nashville Metro Council with the goal of moving the city council further left. The NJL’s true intentions were exposed in the July 2019 Liberation Road Newsletter. Liberation Road is the continuation of Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO). The name was changed to Liberation Road at the group’s national congress in April 2019. FRSO is well-seated in Tennessee; the co-director of the Highlander Research & Education Center, the socialist training school just outside of Knoxville, is a longstanding participant with the FRSO.

Given the NJL’s core mission there is no surprise about the candidates they endorsed.

For example, Bob Mendes and Colby Sledge were the council members who in 2017, introduced two bills that if passed, would have made Nashville the most liberal sanctuary city in the country. Sledge is married to Lindsey Harris who until very recently, was a co-director of TIRRC.

The NJL also endorsed Zulfat Suara who resigned her leadership of the TN American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) to run for the Metro Council. From the comfort of her new $650,000 home, Suara served as one of Bernie Sanders’ three Tennessee campaign co-chairs. Under Suara’s leadership, AMAC joined forces with Linda Sarsour, one of the most vocal anti-Semites in the U.S., featuring Sarsour at different AMAC events. Sarsour served as “Bernie Sanders’s Anti-Semitic Surrogate”.

Kyontze Toombs, who serves as Secretary and General Counsel for the Equity Alliance was endorsed and won her Metro Council race so they now have a front row seat at the table.

Gicola Lane, another NJL endorsed, but losing candidate, was paid by Black Voters Matter as a campaign coordinator in getting the anti-police Community Oversight Board on the ballot and passed. This year she is an electoral justice fellow with the Movement for Black Lives, the policy setting umbrella organization.

The same co-director of the Highlander Education Center who is a long-standing participant with FRSO, is also a member of the policy table leadership team of the Movement for Black Lives.

As to Alliance Bernstein, it didn’t take long for the company which is ranked fifth among Nashville’s largest private employers, to try and use its economic weight to influence the Tennessee General Assembly’s work. In 2019, AB joined a chorus opposing several bills which they, Taylor Swift, Amazon, the Equality Project and the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce claimed discriminated against the LGBT community. Guess they don’t care about “Q.”

Tennessee politicians and their appointees continue to pour state taxpayer funds into Nashville. Between 2015 and 2020, the state has given Metro Nashville $99,581,919 in fast track economic development grants supporting more than 70 projects. Rewarding the out-of-control and irresponsible spending of the Nashville city government didn’t stop with the state’s FY2021 supposed COVID-driven austerity budget which directed $5 million to the San Fran on the Cumberland.

As to the can’t-figure-out-how-to-do-the-governor-job Bill Lee, he is blindly following along, thanking AB for its “ongoing commitment to Nashville and to our state.”

Is this really worth the price we will pay?

Why Millions Do Not Support Black Lives Matter

The current climate has many believing if you do not support  Black Lives Matter you are considered a racist. However, there are millions who do not support it, or find it credible due to it being founded on the lie “hands up don’t shoot”. Promoting an agenda based on a proven lie has diminished its struggle for justice. It all began with the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson MO on August 9 2014 at the hands of a white police officer. As the criminal acquittal of the officer caused communities to be enraged, former Attorney General Eric Holder launched an investigation to see if civil rights were violated. On page 8 of Eric Holders report it states:

The entire claim that Michael Brown was surrendering with his hands up exclaiming “don’t shoot” was proven not to be true. Another problem Black Lives Matter has, is the out right, public  disdain for police. It is certainly a first amendment right to declare your hate for something, but promoting violence towards those you hate is something else. In this video originally captured by NBC, protestors in NYC are heard chanting “what do we want?” “Dead cops!” “When do we want it?” “Now!”    This as the death of Eric Garner sparked new protests by Black Lives Matter in December of 2014/

http://Video Shows NYC Protesters Chanting for “Dead Cops

Probably the most egregious faults of the Black Lives Matter movement is the slogan itself.  How is it black lives matter, but only those killed at the hands of white police? Hundreds of black, mostly men are murdered every single day in cities throughout the United States, with Chicago leading the way. Why do their lives not matter enough for rage and demands for change? Do their families grieve any less because, their son was killed by one of their own? Did that life not matter enough because a white cop was not their killer? Murder is murder, but it seems to take a different perspective when a black is killed by a black.

It never fails that when a sign or chant declaring “all lives matter” is seen or heard, the word racist is used immediately. It is unfortunate what could be a symbol for change and justice is demeaned and exploited.  Until those who lead the movement of Black Lives Matter shows their sincerity and willingness to be outraged at every black death, including the millions of black babies aborted, their cause will only appeal to those who are taken by lies not facts.

Murder is Murder…all lives matter.
