Why Isn’t Tennessee Helping to Fight the Border Battle?

It’s not as if illegal aliens crossing Biden’s open border aren’t settling in Tennessee.

Last week Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton spent a half hour talking with Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian, about everything his state is doing to push back against Biden’s open border for illegal immigration.

Paxton is an AG who understands the value of lawfare and that states cannot remain complacent indentured servants to the federal government. To date, Paxton’s office has filed five lawsuits challenging the Biden administration on immigration actions.

Tennessee’s AG Herb Slatery on the other hand, appears to be sitting out the fight which is easier to get away with when you don’t have to answer to the voters. Texas and forty-two other states, unlike Tennessee, elect their AG. And the Tennessee General Assembly isn’t willing to give that power to voters.

Viewed through the laissez-faire illegal immigration lens of Tennessee’s AG and the lack of legislative enthusiasm for insisting that every business in Tennessee use E-verify to help avoid employing illegal aliens, why should we expect anything else.

Add to this that Haslam, who campaigned opposing illegal immigration ending up endorsing actions that encouraged more illegal immigration to the state. For example, in the waning years of Haslam’s second term when he thankfully was going to not be the governor anymore, he was pushing in-state tuition for illegal alien students. Did he stop to even question how many came as UACs (unaccompanied alien children)? Then he cowardly refused to sign the anti-sanctuary city bill that Tennessee needed to make the law effective.

That bill became law without his signature anyway.

When it comes to the UACs crossing the border illegally and arriving in Tennessee, Bill Lee can deny any and all knowledge about it til the cows come home but good luck to him putting a credible spin on the paperwork which the Times Free Press reporter diligently unearthed and which makes Lee look like a ____(feel free to fill in the blank yourself).

So far according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services data which is only current to April 2021, Tennessee has received 1,111 putting the state in the top ten receiving states. The same data which only tracks counties that receive 50 or more UACs shows the following county numbers – Davidson – 436, Shelby – 213, Hamilton – 99, Knox – 53, Rutherford – 71, Sevier – 51.

U.S. Customs & Border Protection data for the total number of illegal border crossers in the current fiscal year, including family units, accompanied minors, single adults and UACs current to May totals 929,868 individuals. The UAC totals current to May are 79,948 crossing illegally.

By the end of March 2021, the latest data available, 2,946 UACs were released to a parent or step-parent in the U.S. and another 2,991 UACs were released to a relative (see category definitions here).

According to U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, HHS data from 2018-2019 shows 79% of these sponsors were “without status” – that means here illegally.

If you have any doubt, read this April story:

“Lorena, a Guatemalan mother living in Atlanta, recalls getting a 4:25 a.m. call from her teenage daughters on March 12, a day after they’d crossed into the United States. The girls had borrowed a hidden cellphone from another teen being held in a packed Border Patrol tent in Texas. ‘We’re here,’ said Nancy, 16, crying. ‘When can you come get us?’ That was more than a month ago. The girls were transferred to a makeshift shelter at a San Diego convention center, where the younger daughter – Britney, 15 – became sick with covid-19. ‘I just want them to give me my daughters,’ said Lorena, who wanted her last name withheld because she came to the United States illegally.

Lorena left her daughters with her mother in their rural village outside the city of Huehuetenango more than a decade ago, soon after splitting up with their father.

She earns $14 an hour in a carpet factory in Atlanta, and lives with her 4-year-old U.S.-born son, a brother her daughters have never met. When the eldest began showing symptoms of acute anxiety and a sense of abandonment, Lorena decided the time had come for them to join her in Atlanta.

In November, she paid a smuggler $5,000 to bring the two girls to the Mexican border where they could surrender to U.S. agents. The Trump administration used an emergency health order to deny the girls’ release into the United States and flew them back to Guatemala.

Lorena paid smugglers $5,000 again in February. The Biden administration has pledged to no longer return minors to their home countries, so the girls were allowed in. Lorena said she is filling out all the paperwork, but she’s scared to travel to San Diego because her Guatemalan passport is her only legal identification.”

Human smuggling much? Apparently it’s the best known non-secret in Congress. Even Reuter’s is writing about it.

Are passive states like Tennessee complicit? Are passive federal and state legislators complicit?

And it’s not just people from Mexico and Latin America.

Both Haslam and Lee have feigned shock and surprise upon “discovering” that UACs were being delivered to parents and other relatives living in Tennessee. Surely these governors know that the illegal alien population has been growing for some time in Tennessee. Will Bill Lee pretend he doesn’t know about this either?

Tennessee’s AG is super soft on illegal immigration going so far as to advocate for amnesty for the “dreamers” after meeting with the director from the TN Immigrant & Refugees Rights Coalition. When was the last time the AG asked your opinion about endorsing illegal immigration?

If your state legislator tells you there’s nothing the state can do about illegal immigration because it’s all in the hands of the federal government, suggest this – take back the $7.3 million dollar grant the state handed over to Catholic Charities of Tennessee to spread their operations into more counties and instead, send it to Texas to help build the wall.

It’s the least our state elected officials can do.

Sethi Is the Delete Button on the Lamar-Haslam Machine

Tennessee lives matter!!! Liberate Tennessee Conservatives!!!

For too long, Tennessee’s ruling political class has been inbred to the Lamar-Haslam circle of establishment elitists.

When Dr. Manny says he’s an “outsider” the Lamar-Haslam GOP agrees – he is not one of them.

They didn’t pick him or groom him to inherit Lamar’s seat. Only a hand-picked Establishment Republican can have it.

They didn’t support candidate Trump in the primary, nor did their hand-picked marionette.

Hagerty was still supporting Marco Rubio in the primary until March 2016 when Rubio dropped out of the race. And before Rubio, he supported Jeb!

Hagerty didn’t support Trump until after Trump won the nomination.

Dr. Manny supported Trump in the primary with a $10,000 donation to the Tennessee Republican Party’s federal election account. Dr. Manny’s campaign said the donation was to support candidate Trump.

Hagerty moved from one uber-Establishment candidate to another. Neither Jeb! nor Rubio had any credible conservative credentials. In fact, Rubio had already proven himself to be soft on illegal immigration, an issue of great concern for Tennessee conservatives.

Lamar and Haslam were also soft on illegal immigration.

Lamar voted for Rubio’s 2013, “Gang of Eight” amnesty immigration bill. Opposing a Trump Executive Order on illegal immigration, Lamar said he wanted a “bipartisan immigration solution [which among other things, provides a status [ie, amnesty], for those already here.”

Haslam pushed for in-state tuition for illegal aliens and refused to sign the strengthened anti-sanctuary city bill which helps protect Tennessee citizens from illegal aliens who commit crimes in the state.

Dr. Manny hasn’t revealed who from the Tennessee Establishment empire told him to stand down and not to run for Lamar’s seat. Would anyone be surprised if the order had been issued by “the Machine”????? These good ole’ boys are used to getting their way and Dr. Manny is upsetting their plan to continue running “the Machine” even after they leave office.

Dr. Manny is the best chance to break the Establishment headlock on Tennessee conservatives.

At Best, Hagerty is a Haslam Type of “Conservative”

Bill Haslam told voters he was a conservative during his campaign for governor in 2010.

Now he’s fundraising for and donating to Bill Hagerty who also calls himself a conservative.

Haslam claimed in his campaign materials that he was a “lifelong conservative” and Hagerty is using the same pitch.

But during Haslam’s two terms as governor, he showed voters that he was a different kind of conservative. Haslam was the type of conservative who pushed for Medicaid expansion which he called “Insure Tennessee”, begged state legislators to give in-state tuition to illegal alien students, insisted on retaining Common Core, refused to assert Tennessee’s 10th Amendment rights against the federal refugee resettlement program, and refused to put his name on a strong anti-sanctuary city bill which passed with overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate.

(The anti-sanctuary bill subsequently became law without Haslam’s signature and the legislature left Haslam behind when they figured out how to get the 10th Amendment lawsuit filed without him.)

In fact, Haslam was so committed to Common Core, that with support from the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce, he and Lamar brought Jeb! in to lecture Tennesseans about the value of the Obama education curriculum.

Haslam, Lamar & Jeb! push Common Core

Haslam, Lamar and Jeb! – all Establishment buddies of Hagerty – a group of elite country-clubbers who promote themselves as conservatives.

Don’t forget, Jeb! was Hagerty’s first choice for president; Trump was Hagerty’s third choice and only when it was clear he would be the nominee.

Haslam brought Establishment cronies Hagerty and La Raza Randy Boyd into the Tennessee state government as Commissioners of Economic & Community Development (ECD).

Shortly after taking office, Hagerty promoted Lamar’s son Will Alexander to Chief of Staff of ECD; several years later Hagerty and Will Alexander were in business together. Hargerty also brought in Alice Rolli who had worked for Lamar in D.C. It wasn’t long before Alice left ECD to manage Lamar’s re-election campaign.

Shortly before leaving ECD in 2015, Hagerty hired Lamar’s daughter Leslee. At that time he also hired the daughter of TDOT Commissioner Jim Schroer who had previously interned for Bob Corker.

Hagerty’s successor, La Raza Randy, is a named member of the New American Economy group; globalists who want more immigration, legal and illegal. They support giving illegal aliens some type of legal status because they do the jobs Americans won’t do. They also support providing in-state tuition for illegal alien students. Boyd was a supporter on the in-state tuition issue in Tennessee.

Hagerty’s first choice for President, Jeb! showed up in Tennessee to headline a fundraiser for La Raza Randy. See how they all belong to the same group?

Haslam chose Hagerty and La Raza Randy because they are his cronies and his political running buddies. Their political positions are virtually indistinguishable from one another.

The three are cozy kissin’ cousins when it comes to trying to keep Establishment Republicans in control.

While Bill Hagerty was out raising money for Romney in 2012, Bill Haslam served as the State Chairman for Romney’s campaign. The slate of Tennessee delegates for Romney included Hagerty’s mother Ruth, his wife Chrissy, and Randy Boyd.

Bill & Chrissy Haslam with Romney

Hagerty can talk about baling hay and shoveling asphalt in his growing up years. Running for his buddy Lamar’s seat has him shoveling up something else. He wants voters to believe he’s a conservative Republican – same thing Bill Haslam filled the trough with during his campaign.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Hagerty, Hypocrisy and Insider Swamp Politics

Today’s show of Hagpocrisy used to try and smear Dr. Manny and manipulate voters is simply outrageous. But it also shows voters that Hagerty is a hypocrite, willing to say and do anything so he can join his Establishment cronies in the U.S. Senate.

First the Tennessee Establishment empire warned Dr. Manny not to even consider running. We know “they” had already made their pick and “they” wanted another Establishment guy to ascend to Lamar’s seat. Why else would “they” have made multiple calls to Dr. Manny telling him not to run?

Even Mitch McConnell’s National Republican Senatorial Committee called Sethi to try and convince him not to run. No doubt Lamar & Co. promised Mitch Tennessee would him send another Lamar.

Hagerty is one of “them” – rich-rich-rich and very politically connected to the Establishment in Tennessee; just tick off the names – Lamar, Bill Haslam, Jimmy Haslam, TN bankers.

Bill Haslam fundraiser for Hagerty

Hagerty’s $100,000 donation to Romney’s 2008 presidential race filled out his elitist club bona fides. You know, the ones who really run the state and Tennessee’s GOP. No doubt Romney’s “soft” endorsement of Hagerty’s run was phrased so as to do as little damage as possible to Hagerty’s facade of conservatism.

The current attack ads and endorsements accompanied by pathetically petty statements like those made by Marsha Blackburn, are meant to distract and try to confuse voters.

Interestingly, Marsha and Hagerty have more in common than being the follow-orders foot soldiers that they are. Ward Baker ran Marsha’s Senate campaign and is now running Hagerty’s.

Both campaigns were and are Trump-centric. Every other word out of Hagerty’s mouth is intended to remind you that Trump endorsed him. Every other word out of Marsha’s mouth was about supporting Trump’s agenda.

Ward Baker is cozy with Mitch McConnell, having served as the executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and as a political advisor to McConnell for a time.

During Ward Baker’s tenure as executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), he issued a memo warning candidates to distance themselves from Donald Trump the candidate, calling Trump a “misguided missile” and “subject to farcical fits.”

The memo was first leaked to the Washington Post which says it authenticated the document.

In his memo Ward Baker advises the NRSC staff to consider that for the benefit of candidates:

“It is certain that all GOP candidates will be tied in some way to our nominee, but we need not be tied to him so closely that we have to engage in permanent cleanup or distancing maneuvers… Don’t get drawn into every Trump statement and every Trump dust-up.”… “We may not like it, but Trump has connected with voters on issues like trade with China and America’s broken borders.

Read it all and you’ll see the effort to maintain the Establishment status quo despite Trump. The fakery suggested for how candidates should act is stunning and stands in stark contrast to the authenticity of Trump and why he appealed to voters.

Hagerty’s entire campaign is centered on tying himself as closely as possible to the President.

The Hagpocrisy is staggering and especially as it applies to the most recent attempt by a Breitbart writer to smear Dr. Manny (with help from a former Breitbart writer who lives in Tennessee???).

Hagerty, his campaign manager/advisor, and his stable of Establishment cronies are the epitome of insider swamp politics. This is the same swamp that President Trump has been trying to drain.

Tennessee has suffered a string of “conservative”candidates turned Establishment once in office. Ward Baker’s memo reflects the condescension of the “ruling class” and how to manipulate voters.

Don’t let yourselves be manipulated by Hagpocrisy.
