Is Nashville’s Gideons Army Racist and Anti-Police? You Decide!

Here we are in 2022 where police officers are being assaulted, harassed and killed, with crime at an all time high in many liberal run cities and Nashville wants to give a racist, anti-police organization $750,000. In May of 2021, Mayor John Cooper created a Community Safety Partnership Fund Advisory that reports to the Board Mayor’s Office of Community Safety which makes recommendations to the Metro Council for grant funding to nonprofits.

This Community Safety Partnership Fund Advisory Board, which is comprised of “experts” has no budgetary authority but does send recommendations to the Metro Council which includes where grants and donations are disbursed.

Two non-profits have been recommended to the board to split a $1.5 million dollar pilot “violence interruption” program, Gideons Army is one of the two. The issue at hand, is it appears Gideons Army creates more violence than it interrupts.

On Sept 22, 2022 founder of Gideons Army, Rasheedat Fetuga entered Pearl Cohn High School, where she deliberately ignored requests by staff to stop, yelling profanities as she looked for Principal Miriam Harrington. After several attempts to remove her failed, Fetuga eventually left, but on her way out she removed a picture on the wall in the lobby, and once outside began to stomp on that picture breaking the glass and frame.

In April of 2022, another employee of Gideons Army, Charles Brooks, was sentenced to four years in federal prison related to his role in a shootout last year in a North Nashville neighborhood.  In 2006, Brooks faced state charges for voluntary manslaughter.

Charles Brooks

Also in April of 2022, paid employee of Gideons Army Cleveland Shaw, was killed in what police say was another shootout on nearby Clarksville Pike.

In November of 2020, we (Dailyrollcall) published an article exposing Gideons Army revealing some disgusting details about members of a group that claims to be “for the children”.

Mic True, former Gideons Army member

In order to be an effective organization that claims to want to stop violence within the community, you must have a good relationship with law enforcement. Gideons Army may say they do, however they are promoters of the defund the police movement.

While Gideons Army may have provided the community with groceries, and occasionally helps kids, does it appear they are a racist front group, run by anti police activists? The last thing these social justice warriors need is $750,000.

Nashville Metro Council & TIRRC – Pay to Play?

The TN Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), a Soros-funded organization, seems to consistently get special treatment from the Nashville City Council.

Granted, it helped that one of TIRRC’s now former co-directors is married to a far left Metro Council member. It also helps that the majority of the Metro Council members are open border far lefties who hate ICE and believe that criminal illegal aliens should have the same benefits and privileges as legal immigrants and American citizens.

TIRRC advocates for illegal aliens and legal immigrants such as refugees and intentionally blurs the line between the two by using the legal terms “refugees” or “asylum-seekers” loosely to refer to all their constituency.

TIRRC is a named affiliate of the National Council of La Raza (renamed UnidosUS), the largest Hispanic organization in the U.S. which “lobbies for racial preferences, bilingual education, stricter hate crimes laws, mass immigration, and amnesty for illegal aliens.”

Two recent Nashville Council resolutions, one giving TIRRC money, and the other, giving TIRRC an opportunity to influence the selection for the next Chief of Police, were sponsored by TIRRC-endorsed candidates elected to the Metro Council.

Shortly before the August 2019 election for the Nashville Metro Council, three organizations came together to form the Nashville Justice League (NJL), a PAC whose goal was to move the city council further left. Of the 15 endorsed candidates, 13 won their races.

One of the those organizations was TIRRC Votes, the 501(c)(4) arm of TIRRC. The TIRRC-backed Metro Council candidates continue to deliver on their promises to help fund and promote TIRRC’s agenda.

Substitute Resolution RS2020-459, introduced, adopted and passed on August 4 was “approved” and signed by Mayor Cooper the next day. This resolution appropriated $1,244,000 of COVID-19 Pandemic Fund to nine non-profit organizations operating in Davidson County.

TIRRC got $50,000 and fellow traveler Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) got $50,000.

TIRRC’s endorsed candidate Bob Mendes (who is also the architect of the 34% property tax increase), sponsored this resolution. In 2017, pro-sanctuary city Mendes introduced two bills that had they passed, would have made Nashville the most liberal sanctuary city in the country. The bills were withdrawn after state legislators raised a ruckus.

TIRRC is flush in the money department with the ability to raise over $100,000 annually in donations. Influence Watch has posted the organization’s 990’s which show that in 2016, TIRRC’s budget included revenue of $1,935,988 and assets of $619,228.

TIRRC has 24 paid staff and its 501(c)(4) TIRRC Votes in 2019, employed six lobbyists. TIRRC has a newly built 7,000 SF free-standing $2.5 million dollar building which reportedly, is fully paid for. The building will also house a legal services clinic which would most likely be JFON.

Not bad for an organization claiming to represent the poor, down-trodden and lawbreakers.

TIRRC, JFON, the American Muslims Advisory Council and others, have been long-time resident partners housed in the Conxion Americas building called Casa Azafran. The newly empty space now houses a Catholic Charities social services office.

TIRRC repeatedly tries to turn refugees, the people they claim to represent, against the government that pays for all the public support made available to help them start new lives in Tennessee.

Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON), another open borders organization, provides legal services to legal immigrants and illegal aliens.

In 2016, JFON was all about “defending unaccompanied minors.” UAC (unaccompanied alien children) arrivals enter the U.S. illegally, are under age 18 and for whom, “there is no parent or legal guardian in the United States, or no parent or legal guardian in the United States available to provide care and physical custody.”

One Tennessee example of the loophole of the legal definition of UACs is the case of 16-year old Edwin Mejia, a UAC from Honduras who in 2013, was transported to Tennessee and released into the custody of his brother, an illegal alien living north of Nashville in Madison, Tennessee. The following year the two brothers moved to Nebraska where Edwin struck and killed 21-year old Sarah Root  while he was drunk and street racing in his truck. Root had just graduated from college. Mejia posted bond and left town.

A 2018 report from the Center for Immigration Studies documents that MS-13 gang members have entered the U.S. as UACs. Available data shows that from 2014 part-way through 2017, over 4,000 UACs were brought to Tennessee.

The other Metro Council resolution, RS2020-431, introduced on July 7, 2020, sought to have Mayor Cooper include certain special interest groups, a representative from the Fraternal Order of Police, and a representative from the anti-police Community Oversight Board, to help select the new Nashville Chief of Police.

Three of the four sponsors of this resolution were TIRRC Votes’ endorsed candidates.

The resolution was amended to direct Mayor Cooper to work with TIRRC, the Equity Alliance, the anti-police Community Oversight Board, the (ultra left) Metro Human Relations Commission and the Fraternal Order of Police in the process to select the new Chief of Police.

Not only does the amended resolution name specific organizations, but it also adds new language, which read in the full context of the resolution, suggests that some of these organizations represent communities who are allegedly the most “impacted communities” which need a say in the selection process.

The Equity Alliance and TIRRC already have their interests represented since The Equity Alliance is part of the Nashville Justice League, the PAC which also includes TIRRC Votes and the Central Labor Council that helped get these same Metro Council members elected.

The Community Oversight Board’s (COB) agenda for the new Police Chief has already been laid out in a report issued by the COB in April 2020. The report was requested the COB’s vice-chair Andres Martinez who also serves as Director of Policy and Communications for Conexion Americas, a Nashville organization and named affiliate of the National Council of La Raza.

The COB report says that there are 31,000 illegal aliens living and working in Davidson County. A deep dive into the COB report shows that they are pushing for the MNPD to adopt four policies that will help illegal aliens in Nashville go undetected and to ignore the state’s sanctuary city law, something a new police chief could make happen.

Equally concerning about the COB report is the glowing reference to a resolution adopted by the Austin City Council after Texas passed a very strong sanctuary city law which was subsequently ruled as Constitutional by a federal appeals court. The Austin City Council resolution was specifically intended to obstruct and skirt the state’s sanctuary city law.

Nashville Mayor’s Immigration Task Force is also recommending that the Metro Council adopt the Austin City Council resolution. If that happens, expect to see the same in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Memphis.

Now that TIRRC and The Equity Alliance have packed the Metro Council and maintain strong alliances with members of the COB and the Metro Human Relations Commission, it is reasonable to assume that voices regarding the new Police Chief will out-influence every other constituency in Nashville.

Criminal Justice Reform In Tennessee Is All About Release Part 1.

How would you feel if hardened prisoners, convicted by juries, and sent to prison to fulfill their sentences were now walking the streets of your neighborhood? Well, if they aren’t yet, they will be soon, so buckle up and be aware. And no, this isn’t just occurring in major cities in liberal states, it’s happening in unlikely areas, including Tennessee.

On December 11 2019, Tennessee Dept of Corrections Commissioner Tony Parker, along with Gov Bill Lee celebrated the groundbreaking of a women’s shelter that would help former female inmates’ transition from prison life. While I believe these programs are helpful, there is an entire slice of this reform that is going unspoken.

“When you look at the root causes of crime, what drives it – addiction and mental health issues – we know the answer to reducing recidivism here in Tennessee is programs like this Said Parker.  First of all, the Commissioner of The Tennessee Dept of Corrections is stating criminals are either mental or on drugs is misleading, as many that deal with criminals (like I did for 20 years) every day know a vast number of criminals are just opportunistic thugs.

While the criminal justice system in the United States is far from perfect, releasing those who have committed crimes of all kinds is not the answer, despite the intentions of Christian organizations who believe criminals can be cured. One such group is the Tennessee based Men of Valor, a group supported by long time former board member Gov. Bill Lee.

Men of Valor is an exceptional organization that has changed many lives and boasts on its website “Men of Valor is committed to winning men in prison to Jesus Christ and discipling them. Our purpose is to equip them to re-enter society as men of integrity – becoming givers to the community rather than takers.”   We are all for changing minds and helping people find God, but at what expense must Tennesseans be willing to pay if the program doesn’t work for all those being released, and is it appropriate for all offenders?

In the meantime, while concerned over recidivism rates, Men of Valor and other organizations are offering assistance to inmates, a blanket set of conditions for newly released prisoners has been discovered. Typically, when those who have committed serious crimes have completed a prescribed amount of time, they are often released under the supervision of Parole, with less serious offenders to Probation.

Under Parole or Probation, a former inmate must abide by strict sets of rules and conditions and be supervised by their named Parole or Probation officer. If the released offender breaks those rules and conditions, he is arrested and is sent back to prison. Wait. Read that again. If the released offender breaks those rules and conditions, he is arrested and is sent back to prison. Well, not in Tennessee under Lee’s administration.

As law enforcement officers are being subjected to every kind of harassment, disrespect, assaults and targets on their backs, departments are facing dangerous shortages, and manpower issues. What’s just as serious is the system breaking down around them, leaving their jobs in many cases obsolete. Unfortunately, this includes Parole and Probation. According to sources, Parole officers are not allowed to make arrests based on the violation’s offenders committed, even if it was one of their prescribed conditions. This would include drug possession and, in some cases, weapons. Why? Because in the state of Tennessee, Parole officers are not given powers of arrest.   This in turn has empowered former prisoners released under supervision to do whatever they want, including violate their terms of release. If such terms are broken, the Parole officer cannot make the arrest, but rather must obtain a warrant, then request local law enforcement execute it. Many times warrants are not entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system in a timely matter, giving the former inmate a pass if he/she has contact with police.

Last week, Gov.Bill Lee’s Criminal Justice Reform Task Force released their report, which has many scratching their head, as it is more about release then reformation. Labeling the breaking of their terms and conditions “technical violations” is soft balling the ever growing problem of prisoners failing to follow the rules. From the report it states:

The data indicated that a large number of individuals are entering prison after a failure on community supervision, often because of technical violations. Nearly 5,000 individuals entered prison from parole, probation, or community corrections in FY2018, representing 39 percent of all admissions for that fiscal year. Between FY2010 and FY2019, the number of revocations for a technical violation increased by 53 percent, while the number of revocations for a new charge decreased by 8 percent. Just over 50 percent of all community supervision revocations in FY2018 were due to a technical violation as defined by the TDOC, up from 38 percent in FY2010. As Tennessee increases the use of community supervision as an alternative to incarceration, consistent and standardized evidenced-based supervision practices are necessary.”

Ya think? If parolees or probationers are only being arrested on technical violations, not new charges, that simply means they are not capable of following rules.  If they can’t, follow rules or conditions what makes one think they can follow laws? It does not help, that in Tennessee, Parole and Probation officers have no powers to arrest.

In 2016, in part seeking to address the growing number of technical violations, Tennessee enacted the Public Safety Act, establishing the use of a graduated sanctions matrix to respond to non-compliant behavior in a swift, certain, and proportional way. However, the data examined demonstrated that graduated sanctions are currently being used inconsistently across the state. Furthermore, the matrix establishes several zero tolerance policies that disproportionately affect individuals with substance use disorders. This zero-tolerance conduct, which results in immediate revocation, includes refusing to submit to a drug screen, testing positive for methamphetamine, or testing positive multiple times for any other type of drug use.”

So, the answer has been to not allow officers to re arrest those who originally were jailed for drug offense but now allow them to use or possess drugs. This can only get worse, as drug users often resort to more violent crimes to feed their addiction.

Coming up in Part 2, a look at some of those former prisoners released under “community supervision” that have committed murders in Tennessee, in the last several months.

Nashville Police Cadets Schooled On Islam At Radical Mosque

At a time when police officers are targets of harassment, discrimination and violence, one should be questioning why new cadets are being sent to a Muslim Brotherhood mosque to learn about Islam. The Islamic Center of Nashville (ICN), its leaders and speakers, should not be training law enforcement, or anyone else. So lets look at some of the history of the ICN.

This is the same mosque singer Cat Stevens, now known as Yusef Islam, donated $17,000 to, to help purchase the building and the adjacent lot. In the 1990’s Stevens was banned from entering the United States after he raised tens of thousands of dollars for Hamas in cooperation with its British fundraising arm, known as the Relief Fund for Lebanon and Palestine. Hamas is a designated terrorist organization in the U.S.

Chair of the ICN Rasheed Farkhruddin with Cat Stevens (aka Yusef Islam)

Another issue with the property itself is who is listed on the deed as having the same address. The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), is one of the largest Muslim Brotherhood organizations within the United States. If you consider the Muslim Brotherhood a “moderate” political party, as Obama led so many to believe, then you have no issue with this, and good luck as the Muslim Brotherhood is one of the most violent, barbaric groups in the Middle East.

In addition to its Muslim Brotherhood affiliations, the current imam, Ossama Muhammad Bahloul hails from Cairo Egypt, where he attended Al-Azahar University, which is dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood. Not only does the Muslim Brotherhood use the university to recruit thousands of students to adopt ISIS-style beliefs, the Brotherhood used the organization to train young people for combat, including members of Al-Qaida.

                                                           Imam Ossama Bahloul

The Islamic Center of Nashville is the same mosque where Carlos Bledsoe also known as Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad joined while attending Tennessee State University. After becoming a member of the ICN, Carlos was sent to Yemen, where he thought he would be learning Arabic, but instead was exposed to radical, anti-American propaganda, and was “brainwashed”, according to his father Melvin Bledsoe of Memphis TN. Carlos changed his name to Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, after the imam at that time at the ICN. In 2009, Carlos went to Little Rock Arkansas where he shot and killed 2 soldiers in the name of Allah. The below documentary Losing Our Sons is based on the activities at the ICN leading up to the death of those soldiers.

http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uyxz8vsSdcM

The American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) was also involved in the current training. AMAC was formed in 2012 in opposition to an anti terrorist material support bill, and whose members have partnered with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), aka Hamas. Recent lady chair of AMAC, and now member, Zulfat Suara has shown her true colors as she expressed her inspiration and honor towards Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Both women have spewed anti-Semitic remarks, which they still stand by today.

The Islamic Center of Nashville is the same mosque that invites speakers such as Siraj Wahhaj– who was raised as a Baptist but converted to Islam under the leadership of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. He is the imam at the al-Taqwa mosque in New York. He preaches that the U.S. should and will become an Islamic state because “Islam is better than democracy.” What does Wahhaj tell his audiences?
“Islam is better than democracy. Allah will cause his deen [Islam as a complete way of life], Islam to prevail over every kind of system, and you know what? It will happen.”
“If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate. If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir and give allegiance to him. Take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us,” he said in 1992.
“You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.”

This is just a few examples of what and who is a part of the Islamic Center of Nashville, where young cadets are being brought to learn about Islam. Why, with what is happening to our law enforcement everyday, Islam a topic they must learn about? Are other religious leaders insisting police officers learn about their religion and culture?

No, they aren’t. And one can also conclude AMAC and the ICN are not discussing real issues the police need to know such as crimes within the Muslim community, gang activity, what businesses are running scams, or how to effectively interview Muslims. No instead, AMAC sums up their arrogant reason for instructing law enforcement..”How to best serve them”.

As a retired police officer from NY, and former instructor myself, I have great respect and concern for law enforcement today, and can only hope our new cadets are able to put their propaganda is perspective.

Nashville’s Policing Project is a Bust.

American law enforcement  officers are being killed everyday, yet the only topic being discussed nationally is prison reform, and studies on how police act, or react, within the communities they serve.  A prime example of this is in Nashville Tennessee where police have been under the microscope after a  2016 report titled “Driving While Black” was released by a group called Gideons Army.

That report, and the recent shootings of 2 black men, by white police officers led the black community to demand a community oversight board be formed.  In addition to that, Nashville Mayor David Briley, decided to go forward with a planned study by the Policing Project, from the New York University School of Law, whose findings were just released.

Here at Dailyrollcall we have  written extensively on the formation of a community oversight board, specifically in Nashville Tennessee, which voters overwhelmingly decided was needed.  Add that to the report published from the Policing Project and you should see  a clear picture..the left wants to eventually dismantle all forms of law enforcement, to be replaced by social justice programs. It isn’t the criminals fault, it’s the police.

Starting with the Gideons Army report, which was endorsed by anti police groups such as Black Lives Matter, (BLM) and  Standing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), the reports sole purpose was to show how many black people have been stopped by police in black neighborhoods, for what they say is discrimination, despite many of those interviewed for the report, stating they had, in fact, committed the offense for which they were pulled over for.

While “Driving While Black” is filled with 213 pages of redundant charts and statistics, the meat of the report starts at page 90, with the actual people who were stopped, and their versions of why they were stopped.

Ronald Hayes of East Nashville recounts his story to the interviewer by stating this:

Jackie Sims admits to being arrested because she didn’t feel like going to court in NC, where eventually her license to drive was suspended.

So far, neither interviewees were negative about their experience with the police.

Nella Frierson, did in fact have a negative experience with police on two occasions, as she was cited for not stopping at a stop sign, but claims she beat that ticket. She further goes on:

There are several more interviews, from many damming the police , to many stating the police weren’t all that bad. Yes, there are bad police officers, but the report seems to focus on how these members of the community were treated when being pulled over by police. Read the entire report here: https://drivingwhileblacknashville.wordpress.com/

The Policing project report was based on the data collected by the Gideons Army , and finds that racial disparity does not equate with racial discrimination. Whats interesting though, is the assembly of experts, all from liberal universities, called in to study the actions of police…but not the actions of those being stopped, or the criminals which are never the subject of findings.

The policing project released the following recommendations to the Metro Nashville Police Dept/

These findings speak volumes as to the reality of those writing them. Diminishing the role of law enforcement, and enforcing a narrative that police are the  problem is dangerous and typical of  those who don’t deal with the workings of inner city crime.

On a final note, it is important to see that it was recommended the community, and police work together as a matter of public safety. Perhaps the Nashville community should take that advice since the newly formed community oversight board specifically refuses to allow law enforcement be a part of it.

This isn’t about discrimination, or disparity, it’s all about social justice and the dismantling of law enforcement as we know it.

Justice or Revenge..Nashville Tennessee’s Possible Oversight Committee.Part 3.

It’s clear many law enforcement higher ups, elected officials and members of communities across the nation want change within their respective police agencies. Transparency and accountability are two of the areas which seem to be the hotbed of discussion now, as more police involved shootings are occurring across America. What isn’t clear, and really not even a part of the discussion, are the criminals themselves, and how accountability relates to them. Why is it police need “fixing” and the communities with the biggest stakes do not?

Hundreds of young black men are being killed in wars within their own neighborhoods, whether by gang members, drug dealers, or as a result of disputes only solved by violence. There aren’t marches of protest between mothers of those killed and mothers of their killers. There aren’t rallies demanding fathers take accountability of those they brought into this world. Black on black killings seems to be readily acceptable as a fate that just occurs because of poor gun laws.

Fake outrage driven by false narratives, perpetuated by the left and its media, and funded by those who want to drastically alter, and destroy America are a major part of the equation. Rage and cries of racism only seems to surface when a white police officer shoots a member of the black community. Never mind facts  and circumstances. This is why the formation of a community oversight board in Nashville TN needs much more work and more input by cooler heads. The current coalition making demands isn’t about justice, it’s a witch hunt for revenge. Fire the officer and charge him with murder! Yet no mention the subject had a gun and should have followed the officers direction to drop it.

Newly elected Mayor Briley seems non-committal only to say if the referendum to implement a community oversight board fails, he will issue an executive order irregardless. So what will this board accomplish, what powers should it have and who is funding it?

On the Community Oversight Nashville’s website is the proposed legislation in which there are several interesting points, with the first one being no law enforcement, retired or active, or elected officials are eligible to serve. The oversight of a police department certainly does require someone with knowledge of standard operating procedures, penal law, and criminal procedure law. So much for being inclusive.

The purpose of this board is to have the right to investigate citizen complaints of misconduct by Metro Nashville Police employees, and make recommendations to the Office of Professional Accountability on discipline. If the board believes a criminal act has occurred, they may refer the matter to the Grand Jury, for their investigation and indictment if appropriate,

The majority of Community Oversight boards, or Civilian Review Boards across the country, are similar and have proven effective, in accordance with the laws and rules of their respective agencies. Most members of these boards have been able to remain unbiased, and reasonable, after receiving facts and circumstances,  and coming to fair conclusions to recommend disciplinary actions.

Where an oversight committee becomes overreach is the expectancy they have the rights to information and evidence, which includes records, recordings and trainings on pending criminal cases. In order to preserve the rights of everyone involved in a criminal or civil case, those items should remain private and only  those involved..law enforcement, judges, lawyers and defendants should be privy to that data.

As with any American in any case, whether civil or criminal, if found not guilty, the case is over. By requiring an officer be mandated to accept any of the aforementioned, is to insinuate their guilt.

Again, as in any case where there is the possibility to be charged criminally or to be disciplined because of alleged misconduct, a defendant has the right to face their accuser. Complaints made anonymously can be erroneous, and are unable to be verified. Facts and evidence are crucial to a fair outcome, not allegations based on verbal, nameless, accusations.

These are just two examples of why boards created out of anger, by disenfranchised and disgruntled community members will not be effective. Police officers have rights just as the defendants or complainants in the case do.  The formation of a group like this to make recommendations outlined in this proposal is redundant, as the steps are already in place. If an officer is found to have committed a crime, it is handed over to the District Attorney for presentation before a Grand Jury. Civil rights are forwarded to the appropriate level attorney generals, and If misconduct is found, disciplinary action is taken by the police department.

While leaders and community members may not agree or be happy with an outcome, there is no guarantee the community will be accepting of the findings of the Community Oversight board either. As we have seen in video after video, there is a cry for instant street justice. Fire the officer! Charge them with murder!  No justice no peace.

Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both.

Justice or Revenge..Nashville Tennessee’s Possible Police Oversight Committee. Part Two

Two Camden NJ detectives, and an FBI agent in Los Angeles CA were shot last week. Thankfully they are expected to recover, however 35 others shot this year were not as fortunate. These tragic incidents are a result of the targeting of police, due in part to the hate and disrespect being perpetuated by groups wanting to oversee them.  The more one digs into who and what the agenda of the potential Police oversight committee in Nashville TN is, the more one can see it isn’t about justice..it’s all about revenge.

In last weeks article, we revealed Black Lives Matter was one of the members of the coalition looking for a seat at the tablet to oversee what they deem misconduct by Metro Nashville Police. Another group looking to have a say is Standing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ). SURJ joins the rank along with BLM in being anti-police, and believing white supremacy is the underlying problem across the board. On their website, under “theory of change” this group has 3 strategies they believe in.

Again, could members of this group have an unbiased opinion, and make reasonable suggestions for discipline based on what they believe? To SURJ, racist institutions are anything white. Obviously they do not know black unemployment is down to 6.6%, the lowest in a decade. What seems to be missing from these organizations missions or values is the root of the problem, family. Blaming police for all of their ills is easy. Fixing the structure within their communities is the hard part.

To many of the groups looking to be apart of “fixing” and overhauling law enforcement, they fail to fix the criminal. Not once do they question the actions of those committing the crime. Not once do they outwardly accept they have a responsibility to obey laws. It’s really pretty simple. Obey laws, and you don’t deal with the police. The constant narrative the system is broken can only be fixed when those in the system fix themselves.

Gicola Lane is a prime example. Demands actions disregards facts.

Officers protecting themselves from thugs with guns, is not misconduct, it’s survival. If Nashville wants  accountability of those hired to protect and enforce, perhaps they should start in their own backyard.

Justice or Revenge.. Nashville Tennessee’s Possible Police Oversight Committee. Part One.

In today’s social climate, law enforcement in general is disrespected, and vilified on a regular basis. So far this year 34 police officers across the country have been shot and killed, due in part to  their concern they will not have the backing of their departments and become headline news, which can cost them their job,and in these cases, the ultimate price of their lives. Unfortunately, in many police agencies the morale is low, while the concern for the community outweighs concern for their officers.

This is clearly the case for my brothers and sisters in blue on the Nashville Metro Police Department as a new mayor seems to have other interests besides his police. To be clear, yes, it is important and vital to have mutual respect for the communities in which you serve. While members and leaders within neighborhoods must feel they can trust the police, it also goes the other way, where the police should be able to trust and rely on them as well.

This is the beginning of a conversation on what Mayor Briley has been non-committal on, and what certain members of the black community are demanding..a community oversight committee. Briley, who took over as Mayor after former Mayor Megan Berry was discovered having an affair with her police bodyguard, states” I believe it’s time for a comprehensive assessment of how we do policing in our city,”

According to the Tennessean Newspaper, the board would have authority to investigate allegations of misconduct against Nashville police officers and recommend discipline, including forwarding findings of criminal misconduct and civil rights violations to the district attorney, grand jury or U.S. attorney.

So what is a Community Oversight Committee or Civilian Review Board?  A municipal body composed of five to nine citizen representatives charged with the investigation of complaints by members of the public concerning misconduct by police officers. Such bodies may be independent members of the community,  whose goal is to ensure transparency and accountability using rules and guidelines set forth by their initial formation. To be effective, members of these committees must remain unbiased, fair and reasonable. They also must be willing to look at all complaints, not just those involving their own community. After sharing input, and their findings, they must be willing to accept outcomes driven by investigations and facts. As with any fact finding agendas, fairness is paramount to a successful relationship.

Unfortunately, what we have seen so far from the Community Oversight Nashville, is what an Oversight Committee should NOT be. According to their website, their are several organizations who have joined their coalition. Many are legitimate, well organized, and well recognized for their work in black communities across the country, such as the NAACP. One group, that may give a black eye to this committee is Black Lives Matter. Their involvement loses all credibility and legitimacy of what should be a fair, unbiased board.

After reading through the Black Lives Matter Nashville website, it is clearly evident they are anti-police, and racist. In a statement issued by BLM in reference to a rally last year in Shelbyville TN, they say this:

One must ask how an organization that wants to oversee actions of the police, would be unbiased, when they believe law enforcement entities are run by white supremacists.  Another issue with BLM  is its formation was attached to a false narrative during the Ferguson riots, using the chant “Hands up don’t shoot”, insinuating Michael Brown was shot and killed while trying to surrender to the police officer. This was proven to be false in two separate rulings.  Can those chanting “pigs in a blanket” or What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now”! be a viable , effective participant in a committee who is seeking justice based on facts?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqQXmnMr_w8

With Black Lives Matter involved , it will not be an oversight committee, but rather an overreach one. They don’t want justice, they seek revenge. Nashville can and must do better.

Coming up in Part Two: Who is Leading the Charge for the Oversight Committee?

Muslim Gang Member Infiltrates Nashville Metro Police

Chief Anderson of the Metro Nashville Police Dept has been the subject of many articles regarding his political correctness, and romance with the Muslim community despite facts about who he was dealing with. Now, without saying we told you so Chief, it has been discovered one of those Muslims infiltrated the police department as a result of his relationship with the Kurdish Pride Gang.

Jiyayi Suleyman, who joined the police department in 2012 was praised as the first Kurdish police officer, solidifying that community with the police. So who is this young Kurd that came to America to escape the atrocities of his native homeland? If you follow us, you may recall the name Remziya Suleyman, who is Jiyayi’s sister. Remziya, who now resides in Canada, was the first executive director of the American Muslim Advisory Council,  (AMAC) and the American Center for Outreach (ACO). Both groups were simultaneously born in 2011 in opposition to an anti-terrorism material support bill, which was intentionally and falsely labeled by these groups as “anti-Muslim”, and bigoted. Remziya quickly reached out to the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) aka Hamas to gain attention to fight this legislation.

Remziya and Jiyayi Suleyman

Remziya, the Muslim activist, was known for her relationship with Muslim Brotherhood organizations, so her brother being involved with a gang shouldn’t be shocking. Jiyayi  Suleyman is accused of illegally accessing the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations  (TBI) computer system to research other members of the gang. The Kurdish Pride (KP) gang first became known in 2007, when a grand jury indicted four members for conspiracy to commit first degree murder, where their leader at the time, Aki Nejad was accused of shooting at a park police officer who interrupted a drug deal. The Kurdish Pride gang is known for its violence, guns and drugs.

Some experts believe, and even excuse the formation of these types of gangs due to the regions they come from, and in Suleyman’s case being from a war torn country, claim it may be part of their nature to use violence rather than “conflict resolution”. Seriously? If anything, this just bolsters the narrative many refugees choose not to assimilate, but rather continue the lifestyle they fled.

Interestingly enough, those with loud voices in the Kurdish community, which is fairly large in Nashville TN, are once again being defensive instead of acknowledging the problem. Drost Kokoye, another Kurdish refugee, is blasting  law enforcement for “using” Suleyman to promote diversity.

Kokoye is a board member of the American Muslim Advisory Council, (AMAC) which the Metro Police utilize to train police officers. Kokoye clearly hates America, and the police, yet still holds a voice on AMAC. Worse yet, Chief Anderson still trusts AMAC.

Besides Jiyayi Suleyman being attached to the Kurdish Pride gang,  and using his access as a police officer to gain intel on his gang buddies, it’s important to understand Muslims who follow the life of their prophet can not be American law enforcement officers. According to the doctrine of Islam, Muslims may only follow and enforce the laws of Allah, not man made. This includes following the Constitution, and  the laws of our land.

Jiyayi Suleyman may have appeared to be an upstanding, devoted police officer, but in reality he infiltrated law enforcement to benefit his own. Americans must understand all “good Muslims” believe in the return of the global caliphate, where Islam and sharia law reign supreme. A good Muslim is one who obeys and adheres to the strict doctrine of Islam, and the life of Muhammad.

Once again, Muslims in America have been exposed for their dualistic, deceptive ways, but is anyone listening?

Nashville TN Police Chief Exposes Cadets To Radical Mosque..Again.

On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character or the public trust.

I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions.

I will always uphold the Constitution and the community I serve.

Oath of Honor- Tennessee Association of Police Chiefs.

Chief Steve Anderson of the Metro Nashville Police Department may want to revisit his oath, as he continues to expose his cadets to indoctrination at a local mosque with an unsavory history, all because of the political correctness and desire to accommodate this community who in turn, holds anti-American beliefs.

The Islamic Center of Nashville (ICN), its leaders and speakers, should not be training law enforcement, or anyone else.  So lets look at some of the history of the ICN.

Starting in the 90’s, the ICN received a donation from Yusef Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens. Yusuf Islam was the Muslim Council of Britains  treasurer in 1998 at the same time he was fundraising for Bosnian Muslims. The MCB is one of the largest Muslim groups in the UK whose chairman was a documented Al Qaeda operative. Islam was banned from entering the U.S as a result of this relationship. He also attracted controversy in 1989 when he defended the fatwa issued by Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini calling for Muslims to kill British author Salman Rushdie for blasphemy. He later dismissed his remarks as bad taste. Yusef has since been allowed to reenter the U.S

For details on what the Islamic Society of North America espouses go here

In June of 2009, Carlos Bledsoe, a student at the University of Tennessee at Nashville, shot and killed two uniformed army troops in Little Rock Arkansas as they stood in front of their recruiting center. Bledsoe had actively attended the ICN where he chose to convert to Islam and name himself after the imam that radicalized him..Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad. After being sent to Yemen, being arrested and then returning to Nashville, Bledsoe seethed with rage at what he regarded as American and Jewish persecution of Muslims. Read more here. An excellent documentary on Carlos Bledsoe is Losing Our Sons. Watch it here

The Islamic Center of Nashville is also a partner of the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC), who are also representatives of the mosque.  Third from left in first photo above is Dina Sirios. In Nov of 2017, 7th grade students from Meigs Magnet School in Nashville attended a talk  given by Sirios and Rasheed Farhuddin ( Next to Chief Anderson). 38 out of 58 minutes of their speech was indoctrination rather than a lesson in social studies.  Sirios stated to the students: “

Were trying to give you information so you can leave here today with yet another little piece of your brain that has some new little storage compartment that has been filled with Islam stuff.”  There is no historical value in that statement.

In the same photo, 4th from the left, is Zulfat Suara. Ms. Suara has been involved with law enforcement on several levels, including the FBI’s citizen academy. Unfortunately, Ms. Suara is also a supporter of the Indivisble movement, as seen in a picture with Renata Soto ( Director of La Raza). Indivisible is an organization created to resist President Trump and his administration.

Other members of AMAC, also active with the ICN is Drost Kokoye, a refugee from Kurdistan, who is an activist at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) Ms. Kokoye not only  hates being an American, but despises police. The same police  that Chief Anderson exposes to at the mosque on a regular basis.

The bottom line is the Islamic Center of Nashville (ICN) has, and is a part of an ideology that is completely antithetical to the American Constitution which the Chief of police swore to uphold. Suggesting to children they should have a compartment filled with Islam stuff is indoctrination. Receiving donations from Yusuf Islam, whose relationship with extremists banned him from entering the U.S is accepting money from those who wish harm on America. Having the same address as a Muslim Brotherhood front group is dangerous, and unacceptable.

As a retired police officer, I have great respect for the men and women of the Metro Nashville police department, as they don’t get to pick who trains them. As for Chief Anderson, who continues to keep his head in the sand regarding who the ICN is affiliated with is a disgrace. There are many more connections this mosque has that we have discussed on several occasions. Exposing our law enforcement to those that want to dismantle and destroy us is what the Chief has chosen, and will continue to do as long as it is accepted.
